TechnoDex to distribute second online game in Taiwan
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 3 (Bernama) - TechnoDex Bhd, an MSC-status company listed on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia, today announced that its second online game "Lian Yu" will be distributed in Taiwan, Macau and Hong Kong by Taiwanese online games developer and portal operator Unalis Corporation.
Unalis, a distributor of personal computer games, television games and online games, has an online player base of one million in Taiwan, Macau and Hong Kong.
Chief Executive Officer of TechnoDex, Nigel Lee, in a statement said their second game was recently introduced in China.
According to an agreement between TechnoDex and Unalis, the latter will be granted exclusive rights to distribute 'Lian Yu' and in return the group will pay royalty right of RMB1.7 million.
According to a recent survey by Market Intelligence Centre of Taipei, the local gaming industry there is estimated to be worth US$320 million, and this is expected to grow 10 per cent this year.
TechnoDex will be able to penetrate Taiwan's huge online games market, as the demand for cost-saving entertainment such as online games have increased due to the global economic slowdown, it said.
